In the Bible, it is brought up several times that God knew everything about us before we were born.

“All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:16 NIV).

But throughout your life have you noticed the other forethought Jesus has had about you? One day I was looking at the different colors that the walls in my house are painted. I rent a house and am not allowed to paint it so I just have to go with whatever colors the walls were already painted when I moved in. I recently found out that after the last tenant, the house had to go through quite a bit of renovation because they did not treat the house with a lot of TLC.

I will tell you, I love the colors the walls are painted, though! Each room seems to match the themes I had in my last home and the colors seem as if I hand-picked them! That’s when it hit me – before I began my house search, before I even knew I was about to move, before the house was on the market, God already knew I was going to be renting it next. When the renovations were done and the paint was chosen, He knew what colors would go with my room themes and colors and He had them make it just right for me!

As soon as I realized it, I was immediately praising Him so much! It seems like such a little thing, but this house has been a place of respite and being able to move right into rooms with colors that fit us was so comforting. And just like every tiny petal in a bouquet of baby’s breath, God thinks about even the tiniest details for us, way before we knew they’d be a detail in our lives at all.

Can you think of His forethought in your life? You might start with the bigger things like a good job, a best friend who you can always count on, etc. Of course, be thankful for the huge, almost obvious, blessings. But then try to think of something less obvious, while not any less impactful to you. Can you see God’s forethought in making it, or a series of events, happen that caused the blessing you now have?

Jesus, please help me to see all your blessings that I may add to my praises of you. Please open my eyes to the foreknowledge you had of me and the circumstances you brought about for good in my life, even in the smaller details. Thank you for every single one. I love you. Amen
